AISSA ROSE GUEYE
Aissa Rose Gueye is a Senegalese-American writer and filmmaker raised in New York City, currently based between New York and Los Angeles. She has served as a script coordinator and writer’s assistant on acclaimed series including HBO Max’s RAP SH!T (Seasons 1 & 2), HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness (Season 2), OWN’s Queen Sugar (Season 7), and Audible’s We Stay Looking (Season 1).
Most recently, Aissa was one of four writers selected for the highly competitive Almanack Screenwriters 2025 Episodic Lab, where she workshopped and pitched her original television script. In 2024, she was one of only two writers chosen to shadow the award-winning showrunner Mara Brock Akil on the set of her upcoming Netflix series, Forever. She was also a 2023 fellow at Story27 Productions’ prestigious Writers’ Colony, where she completed an original pilot during the fall residency.
As a filmmaker and photographer, Aissa’s work has been featured by HBO, MAX, Issa Rae Presents, and Afropunk, and showcased at renowned festivals including BlackStar Film Festival, Black Harvest Film Festival, and the Montreal International Black Film Festival.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film and African American Studies, with a concentration in Creative Writing, from Wesleyan University.
